Tipping made simple
Enter the bill, choose a tip percentage and the number of people sharing. The calculator shows the tip, the grand total and what each person owes.
Typical tip percentages
- United States: 15–20% in restaurants.
- Canada: 15–20%.
- United Kingdom: 10–12.5%, often added as a service charge.
- Spain and much of Europe: tipping is optional; rounding up or 5–10% is appreciated.
Quick mental math
To estimate 15%, find 10% by moving the decimal point one place, then add half of that. For 20%, double the 10% value.

Should I tip on the total with tax?

Is tipping mandatory abroad?
No. Check local customs, as practices differ widely between countries.
